A little about me
Hi, I’m Mary Tighe (rhymes with sky) and I’ve spent my career helping people explain complicated things.
My first “big-kid job” was in the marketing department of a fraternal benefit society. If you don’t know what that is… neither did I.
After some work (and a lot of questions), it came down to this:
Get insured by a company that shares your values and helps you give back.
Basically, it combined annuities and whole life insurance… with pancake breakfasts and canned-food drives.
Starting in such a hard-to-explain industry set me on the path I’m still on today.
I’ve since helped clarify stories across all kinds of complicated spaces — from home standby generators, aircraft parts and medical devices to programs supporting third-grade literacy, preschool access, and community development.
I work across industries and missions, but see the same challenge: It’s important work, but really hard to talk about.
And that’s my favorite kind of work.
I help teams cut through the noise and communicate what matters most. With clear messaging, grounded structure and a practical plan, we turn complex ideas into language and stories that guide your content, strengthen your marketing and help your audience finally understand what you do (and why it matters).
I believe your message should be:
Clear, not complicated.
True, not trendy.
Driven by empathy, not assumptions.
